I once played bass with a polka band at a winery gig; four hours of I-V-I-V, easy charts. I got paid in wine. The wine was good. The polka band never asked me to play with them again.
I really enjoy very heavy music, but rarely play it; jazz is more fun and challenging, but I'm terrible at it.
I don't have Gear Acquisition Syndrome. What I have is called "All My Good Gear Is Broken And I Don't Know Who Can Fix It" disease.
