Sorry to rain on this parade, but super funky pete spent a year trying to get there and his sound samples did not impress.
The only person who managed to do this correctly was the guy on facebook who sells complete basses for a song- he actually reverse engineered the pre-amp and hit it out of the park
Smaller?
That fit?
I just took ownership of my second Octave bass this past Monday. Can concur that Dario has nailed it.Yes, it was Octave who got it right- to the dismay of many.... supposedly, he was going to sell his electronics separately but I do not know if he ever got around to it. Anyone who is trying to get the Wal sound would be foolish not to consult with him...
Soon don’t have time to actually record properly tonightGive us sound clips you COWARD!
Subbed! Because we're kindred spirits. The turner multicoils are incredible and Chris is such a nice dude. What preamp are you using?
Those Octave basses make me wander; how legal (or ethical) is it to meticulously copy every Wal bass detail and sell them? They even copied the Wal bridge. Isn’t that patented or something?

You could ask Sadowsky, Lakland, et al that question, maybe they’d have an answer?
