So I bought a Blackberry Storm II

My first Blackberry and my first phone/PDA (I had a palm back in the days).

All I have to say is: this thing rocks. I know Storm I users suffered tons of glitches, but this little machine works well for me.

I hesitated between this and the Droid, which has a real keyboard. I don't know, maybe I made a mistake... Maybe the Droid is even better? But it's the first release and like with the Storm I, one could expect glitches that the Droid II would fix, who knows?

What do you think?

Also any good apps for musicians? I would not mind a scale/arpeggio thingy :)

i personally would give the droid a chance to prove itsself, its been a long time since motorola brought out a quality product. In terms of Android handsets, check the HTC Hero or Samsung Galaxy.

The Storm 2 is a ten fold improvement, but it's no iPhone - to boot, BB have just released the Bold2, which hands down pwns the storm. :)

I'm getting my iPhone soon... yay!!!

I have the Storm 1 and had mixed feelings about it until OS 5.0 came out a few weeks ago. Now it is pretty amazing. Major downside is no WIFI, but other that it rocks. Will have to wait until next summer for an upgrade.

The Storm 2 has WiFi and both at home and at work I have a WiFi router.

Actually at work I realized I was using that of another business in the area. Oh well, too bad for them.

So far I love it, I don't know about the other two. I have used other people's iPhone and I liked the features but I think the web browser on the Storm is much faster.

I did try the Droid, but maybe it was the demo model, as I was switching from portrait to landscape by rotating the phone several times in a row to see how fast it would switch, it stayed stuck in landscape mode, although it was not sad facing on me or anything, I still could use the keyboard, but apparently the motion sensor is a bit flimsy.

It now seems to me that Google Maps on BB is not fully featured, as compared to the Droid (normal, it's a "Google phone). No street view. It still can work as a clumsy GPS, though.

By the way, which GPS (free of not) software do you recommend on the BB?

The Verizon one is $9.99 a month, no sirree.

I just use the blackberry maps and google maps programs. Google maps doesn't do streetview but it does satellite view. I still have my pearl, but I'm like 3 months over my upgrade date, so I think I'll be getting the Storm II very soon. My guitarist has the iPhone and my drummer just got a Droid. The Droid is much faster, and the Google Maps app for it is pretty sweet.
