What exactly is this job you have that you act like is so great, yet you keep saying how broke you are? It's not really that hard to make ends meet in Ohio. You're not exactly living in Miami.
i am a stock clerk at a kroger. not great. but its secure. im union. ive been doing this off and on since i was 14. something i know how to do well. i know its cheap here. and a really cheap part of town. from the hood to the next town over (where i was raised), the rent is about 50 dollars more and the places arent as nice as this one. they wanted 450 for a moldy closet there, i got a nice looking place here for 375. other than the apparent crime, its great here.
The reason you aren't moving up in the world is that you're a) LAZY and b)PROUD. I know there are certain jobs that aren't that glamorous, I spent several years working jobs that were pretty demeaning while I was working towards what I really wanted to do. But you're an adult now, and sometimes you have to do things you don't like in order to get where you need to be. I'm sure you already know this, you just don't want to accept it. As for your parents, they're probably giving you a little "tough love", because you come off like a spoiled brat.
lazy isnt it. proud is. i wont touch food or money. id rather be dead. and i mean that. i wont accept welfare or hand outs. the grocery store is pretty demeaning. it wasnt tough love. it was my dad thinking "i moved out when i was 18, he's 20, he can get out". and ive been on my own since. i wasnt spoiled. i had a job when i was 14. paid for driving school, all but one of the cars ive owned, and all my equipment. i worked 20 hour weeks on TOP of being an honor student. there was never any help from them, just belligerently drunken beatings.
And I'm sorry to tell you this, but the guys who broke into your place WILL be back. They've already seen how easy it is to break in, they've seen what you have, and they will be back for those guitars. There's no amount of security that can keep someone out if they really want to get in. You need to get out of there if you want to have anything left. Or at least get renters insurance. You can usually get coverage for about $15 a month. No excuse not to have it.
as far as i can tell, they checked the place out, took what they could grab and bolted. then proceeded to attempt another break at another apartment in the next day, and then actually break in yet another a couple days later. they clearly arent very smart. i was gone for 6 hours when they broke in the first time. they had plenty of time, didnt use it. the stuff they didnt take wasnt pulled out, examined and then discarded. it was skipped over entirely.
ive also been keeping a light on while im gone. i know its not much, but this looks less like an inside job all the time. clearly not spying on me, clearly dont know what i have.
their past point of entry has been taken care of. the window is now back in place, locked, and jammed shut with a piece of wood. if they want in now, they are breaking glass and someone will DEFINITELY hear that.
renters insurance is being taken care of. and according to the new property management, the old landlord lost my lease form, and they want me to sign a new one (retroactively dated of course) so everything is official. before that, im going to decide if i want to get the hell out of here while im not legally bound. i really dislike moving, and i have no idea where i'd go.
