so, I'm going to jail ...maybe?

So, this morning was my court session. The trooper was out sick (BIG WIN FOR ME!), so my attourney plea bargained with the prosecutor. A $200 fine and an improper driving charge (a BIG jump down to a simple traffic violation from a reckless driving, which is a criminal charge and stays on your record for 11 years!).

So all you haterz who were expecting me to crap my pants in jail, I say to you: nee-ner, nee-ner :spit:

see ya, suckas!

I wouldn't hire a lawyer for a speeding fine, but this country is different than yours. You don't hire a lawyer for small things like a speeding ticket, and you won't have to go to court either. I got a pretty bad fine once for driving 111 on an 80 area (km/h). All I had to do was confess the "crime" and pay the €352 fine...

Laughs, my friend got about €400 ticket for doing 145 on 100 kph limit, almost lost his licence, but he was able to talk it down as there weren't any cars in front of us.

We were on our way to Tampere from the north, there was some jerk driving in front of us who'd always accelerate when the three-lane passing section started every 10 km's on the 2-lane road with plenty of on-coming traffic, then slowed back down when it ended. My friend can have a tad short temper at times, so he rammed the pedal on the next passing section, whizzed past the guy and yeah, you guessed it: police car came up from behind the next hill. His g/f, who's always commenting on his driving, laughed the whole way to our destination, "I told you so!". The rest of the trip, we did exactly 100 kph.. :D

I got pulled over the other day doing about 45 on a 35 mile street. The lady officer took my license to run through the computer. Turns out I had a warrant! Possesion of marijuana, which I did happen to show up to court for, though the court lost my file.

Didnt get arrested. Didnt get a speeding ticket. Just a Notice to Appear and a 30 minute detour to the girlfriends place.

Okay, so now that the case has been disposed, what was the original charge?
