So many different strings

This is probably a pointless question, but i’ll ask it anyway. I’ve got a Lakin jazz bass presently strung w Di Bella FL flats. I want to try something a little zingyer with a similar apparent tension that retains some of the flatwound punch thud. So many choices!! Not slapping, pretty old skool.

Give a starting point if you can.

Flash Gordon? The slick rounds look like a good candidate. I’ve got a Lakin P with a Geezer pickup strung with Di Bella FLs and it sounds phenomenal. So i’d Like to try rounds or half rounds to get further away from that sound. Regular ole Boomers? GHS pressure wounds? Or their balanced rounds? Or DR Blues?

Ken Smith Slick Rounds = GHS Brite Flats = Alloy 52 (nickel-iron) half-rounds = semi-flat = flatwound in basic tonal character with some brightness added.

GHS Pressurewounds = Alloy 52 (nickel-iron) rollerwounds = semi-round = roundwound in basic tonal character with added punch and crunch without the zingy brightness up top.

Take you pick.

By the way, is "Di Bella" the same company as "La Bella"?
