So Talkbass Has A Store Now...

I am guessing I am allowed to talk about this (and there isn't a thread already.) If not, please remove the thread mods. Anyway...

So Talkbass has a new store opening. I don't know if everybody can access it or just long time/supporting members but I added a link below. It seems cool, the idea of merch is neat, but I don't know how it will go at this point. I'm sure everything is still flexible but I m finding better prices on TB's current favourite string site, which I now am unsure if I can mention, so I don't know if I will actually use the service. Mind you... a Talkbass European carry-all would be pretty sweet.

TalkBass Strings and Accessories

I just bought some Dunlop Super Bright 5's for $15 shipped. So that works for me.

My biggest thing will be to see if the shipping is fast. I love BSO, but they are in Cali and the shipping is always a week for me. In the age of Amazon Prime, I prefer faster if at all possible.

Hey folks, I'm still stocking the store, and sorting out some bugs (if you get super high shipping charges please send me a PM). We will never stock as much as BassStringsOnline or provide such a comprehensive service as Jason does. @SLaPiNFuNK We aim to peacefully co-exist along with BSO and all the other string outlets.

I promise not to spam you, @Gorn Captain ;)

I don't use popular strings, apparently, and not into effects. Waiting for the 12oz ceramic TB mug and 24oz glass glass.
Does anyone have any experiences with the Krog tuner; good, bad, indifferent?

I hear those Krog tuners are some no name brand from west nowhere.. the korgs are pretty nice though... ;)

I am glad to see this because I was about to make my own TB shirt...

There's one with somebody saying how they get great service from BSO and that they will stay a loyal customer. Why bother even saying that?
I bother to say that because I think it's nice for Jason (from BSO) to know that there are people here who value his past service enough to stick with him in the face of competition which will no doubt entice a lot of people. And I've never seen any BSO spam - just threads started by happy customers.

Thank you all so much for the support! TalkBass has always been a community where bass players can come for unbiased information. TalkBass has always had a strict C.U.P. (Commercial User Policy) that I have always adhered to, I can only post general information without directing the poster directly to my website or my services. I understand while posting to the community the information can be used to then look on the internet for products, and the user may or may not find the information on my website. TalkBass has chosen to start their own online store selling products that directly compete. This not only is in competition with my company but also no longer makes it an unbiased community platform. Therefore I will no longer be participating in conversations or posting public information on this forum. The VIP program discussed in this thread remains active as TalkBass Membership is NOT required for anyone to become a VIP. The VIP program is a FREE program that is spread by word of mouth. The instructions to become a VIP are in various "BassStringsOnline" threads posted by users.

Generally message boards make money off Google display ads. This one also asks for users to pay be supporting members (many when you do this remove display ads). Some also have links to "Amazon" items where commission is made in purchases. This is the first instance I have seen one openly start a store.

I have always tried not to do business inside of private messages as the forum admins can see that information. Hopefully this forum is not using information from those messages like Amazon did where they started purchasing and selling products directly resulting in a huge antitrust lawsuit against them.

BassStringsOnline remains to support the bass community.

If I could bulk order DR strings from TB I totally would. Be set for a few years kinda thing. And you can always use a new shirt to rep the low end, so I will likely buy from the shop. When they stock DR Hi Beams. But I completely appreciate the site is expanding and changing and trying new things. Very cool. Props to the mods and admins and folks the run the show behind the scenes for making it happen.
