So, what are your favorite strings to use??

Been playing for 15yrs and have gone through many brands.
My primary Bass I use Elixir Stainless Steel, the brand new ones they just put out and I love them. NEVER CHANGING
My 8 string I use Elixir Naoweb with Polyweb guitar strings
My 6 string I vary between D'addario and Dean Markley 7-string sets I tune to guitar and use the B string on my Joybass. mostly I've been just getting the DM's
My Wishbass I still have the strings Steve sent with it. it's still fairly new to me
My practice Bass I use D'ad Accuwound Nylon
My KaossPad Bass I use Dr Neon Orange and Green
Accoustic - Elixir acoustic Bass strings
Fretless- 4 and 6 string i'm still shopping around for what I like on those
I play Mostly Prog Metal so I love the heaviness of Elixirs. The other projects i'm in vary styles one is very Mars Volta meets Mr Bungle and the other is more Soulfly meets Slayer so I like the variety I keep around
I play Guitar and Percussion in the heavier band so I guess it doesn't really count but my guitars are alllll Polyweb Elixir on electrics and Elixir Phosphorus Bronze on Acoustics
Except for my 2 oddball acoustics where I use Nylon strings on one and Silk on the other

I will absolutely second that! These strings are bright, have the least tension compared to all other strings out there, and they retain their zing for a REALLY long time, almost indefinitely. And if this weren't enough, they are cheaper in price than most other brands. You just can't beat their value, in my opinion.

I could be wrong but i thought they were pretty new ( on the market ) so maybe thats why people havent dived in just yet ?

I like DR Fat Beams but recently I have been loving the smoother Rotosound SH-77's.

They're in my favorite gauge and smoother than any other flats I've played before.

Depends on the bass and the genre. TI or Sadowky flats for 60s soul and a lot of other things. I prefer nickel rounds except on my Steinberger XL, which has Rotosound Swing Bass 66.

I have the Sadowskys on my Hwy One Jazz and Squier fretless Jazz, but I still have Chromes on my Squier '51 P.

The Sadowskys are right in the sweet spot tension-wise between TIs and Chromes and sound fuller and more dynamic than either.

I primarily use flatwounds and tried just about all of them. In the end, for my type of music (pop, top 40, classic rock), Sadowsky Black Labels and Pyramid Golds are the best for my ear and my fingers.

I used to be big on Ernie Ball slinkys and used them for years. the past few years though I've tried Elixr and DR longneck strings. Right now though I'm really into the D'addario chromes flats. Just love the feel of 'em!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned R Cocco's. Imo, R Cocco's are the most well balanced bass strings I've ever played and they seem to last forever. I have a set of the Nickels on my Fender J and I haven't looked back since. A distant second would be the Fodera nickels. While they are fantastic for tapping, slapping, and playing higher up the neck, they lack in punching through the mix for the low end.
