I have supported myself playing bass since 1994,tho gigs are getting more and more sparse recently.I suppose if things don't get better soon I will be sitting on a stool ,saying "Welcome to Wal-Mart".

Nice, wish I'da known you were up in DC, I've been looking for an excuse to go up and visit recently, knowing that in advance might have tipped me toward actually doing it!
Yeah, it was COLD this past weekend, even down here in NC, never really got out of the freezing temps.
We're having a heatwave now, got up into the low 40's today, they're predicting low FIFTIES by the end of the week!!! I'm goin' swimming if it is! (No, not really.)

Which hardware distributor if you don't mind? I spent years in the industry and turned down an interview with Fastenal.

I own a small restaurant/coffee shop but I'm looking for a day job at the moment. I'm trying to transition into a job so that my partner (girlfriend) can run the store day to day and I can do more of the behind the scenes stuff. My background is all military and government contracting stuff (transportation, supply, logistics). (in case anyone in western Washington needs a guy)
