You have started a very interesting thread. I know some people that have alot of high end stuff, and not just basses, but toys of every kind, that I know they can't afford. Ego is a very, very dangerous affliction. I'm retired, and hopefully experienced enough to understand that, in the end, the person with the most toys definitely does not win.
I nearly sent this as a PM to an admin who posted up 6 or 7 high end basses (at least a grand a pop) on the show your bass thread
figure a thread would be better.. So, how do you fund your bass buying habits?![]()
I fund my habit by staying out of debt and paying cash for everything. If I don't have the cash, I can't afford it.
you make it sound controversial..
also, i realise this may be in the wrong forum, sorry, (i was looking in the bass guitar sub section so this was the most appropriate option....)
I own and operate a famous cave.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching cuz I'm not. It's just that I get kinda depressed, angry, uptight, etc., when some people show off their new TV/Bass/car/Harley/vacation or whatever, and I know for a fact that they are in debt up their wazoo.
If I can not pay for it with gig money, then i can not have it.
