So, whats wrong with me..

I have always bought basses heavily modified by my wallet but this time money was no issue. I entered the store with the intention to find myself the best sounding, best feeling bass for me at any cost(any cost = 2 step under luni). I A, B, C and D'd a truckload of basses and finally found my dream bass.
I played and tested (Top 12):

* Lakland - DJ, JO, 44-01, 44-02, 55-01, 55-02
* Ibanez - BTB, SR
* Sandberg - JJ, JM
* Fender US Jazzbasses

And the best sounding and best feeling bass for me is... Lakland 44-01 (maple neck). Im very happy and so is my wallet.

Why would you say anything is wrong with you?

You did your research and found a bass that works for you. It doesnt matter if it was the most expensive one, or the least.
The key point is that it spoke to YOU!!

My arsenal of basses is pretty eclectic (ESP, SX, Peavey, Schecter, Carvin and a Clement custom) and none of them are outrageously expensive but they all work for me.

You bought something you like so relax and enjoy it!

I had a 44-01, maple, with maple board.

Awesome bass. Stupidly sold it a while back and still regret it. Neck was great.

I have a 44-01 in sunburst with a maple neck and I absolutely adore it. It really is an awesome bass for the cash...only wish I could afford a 4-94 or Decade!

I picked a 4401 up on the cheap and am really happy with the build quality and playability - looks good to boot. Sound is just OK from my perspective, but since the instrument itself is so solid, upgrades are definitely in the works. I have a Sadowsky internal pre on the way that was configured to a 5-knob setup (thanks Alex and Kevin!!) and I will be installing it next week. We'll see where that takes me and if I think there is still more greatness to be found, a new set of pups will finish things off (maybe U.S. Barts or Nordstrands?).
