So, who's going to Winter NAMM 2008?

There will be two nights of the bass bash at JT Schmidt's Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th. And it's just a cab ride a few blocks from the convention center.

Okay...that explains why when I googled Bass Bash there were two dates coming up. Cool. The cats I listed play on Friday the 18th. My social calendar is gonna need to remain flexible, but I'll do what I can to make it to JT Schmids for at least a while.

There's just too much cool stuff happenin'. I was really hoping to make the trek out to the Baked Potato in N. Hollywood on Friday night and catch Allan Holdsworth. Jimmy Johnson on bass and Chad Wackerman on drums. The Potato is an incredible place to see and hear cats like that. Saturday night is still listed as TBA...but anyone still hanging on Sunday night might want to check out Frank Gambale, with Ric Fierabracci and Joel Taylor.

I'm sure I'll see you there, then! :)

Is there a schedule posted as to who is playing at what time on each night?

I think at this point Tom the info will be found in the NAMM directory.

Exactly and I'm sure as always the Bass Bash is going to be a blast.

Cool, I see that you and Gerald Veasley are both playing on Thursday night. Man, Gerald really had me grinning from ear to ear last year, and I'd love to hear him again. I have been very impressed with your CD, Jauqo, and I'd love to hear you play live! What time do you go on?

Most definitely!

Thanks Tom(for digging my CD). I will be performing with my trio and I think we will be going on some time after 9.

My flight arrives at LAX @ 7:30pm on Thursday, but I'll do my best to make the set! :)

Hopefully we can hook up Tom. If all goes according to plan and we're on the road by 8, we should get to the convention center area by 9 if traffic is "normal".

Let's talk Monday or Tuesday the week of the show and we can nail down a plan. Giving you a ride should really be no problem.

Awesome, thanks!

I'll be there working my gig in and around the Alfred Publishing booth. Victor Wooten and Todd Johnson (newest Alfred author!) will both be performing in our booth on various times (times TBA). Come by and check it out!

I'll be there, though I'll probably be working all the time. Good thing my work description includes covering the show for our website so I can wander a bit. Anyway, I'm in booth #7019 (between Hall A and the Arena), say hi if you get lost and wander in that direction, I'm the one with the big beard.

i just found out that all of the navy musicians that sit on the other side of the bookshelf are all going...suckers...and a couple of flautists, too...gee whiz, man

Don't worry, if I see any flautists heading in the general direction of your MTD, I'll beat them away with an ash neck! :D
