Software Tuner?

IME they all suck. I've never met a software tuner that was accurate for setting the intonation. they might be okay for quick tuning before recording (or may not, especially if you have a low B), but that's it. I've recently made a recording tuned to the tuner in my DAW and the engineer complained, one of the strings was significantly out of tune.

what DAW are you using? most of them have a tuner nowadays and swapping it for something different won't give you significantly different results. I admit that I didn't try them all (notably I didn't try StroboSoft desktop), but the ones I tried were nearly the same. maybe the Polytune VST was a tad better, but that was killed by awful protection system (load it on two tracks and it will tell you, you're the bad guy and refuse to work).

Using Waveform Free, used to be called Tracktion.
I found my Snark, also have SansAmp Bass Fly Rig that has a tuner.
Just thought I'd ask. I just like less stuff, fewer cables, all that. I'm doing tracking for a project long distance, got a laptop and all that in a small room in the house.
Always a less-is-more guy. Thanks for your thoughts.

good luck with minimizing the hardware. for me it just didn't work, but a strobe tuner is a strobe tuner.
