Soldering output jack.

So i have installed new EMG pickups with the volume pots that came with it. I have a Spector NS-2a. The old input jack was an old switchcraft 154b, its long, and you cant physically see where the "leads go", i did however find the schematic sheet for it. Following instructions i have soldered things to the correct spot, I got no output, i have a ground from the body and ground from the battery, and the ground from the tone control. . Clearly i have done something wrong. What can be the most common issue in soldering that i need to start looking at?

This is my first time soldering guitar electronics and i have a feeling it is a common mistake, i did not blow on any of the solder, i am using rosen 60/40.
 
With the Jack removed from the bass where you can see, the Long arm on the output jack is the tip (signal). The shorter arm is the ring and the sleeve ground. .

Connect the Battery Positive (+) directly to the preamp board. Connect the preamp board negative to the ring and connect battery ground to the sleeve. When you insert your guitar cable plug into the jack the sleeve of the plug connects the ring to the sleeve providing the board with the Battery Negative (-) turning it on. Note: do not leave the guitar cable plugged in when not in use or it will run your battery down

Problem with the switch craft is its long and you can not physically see where each part leads. Schemetics show that the longs arm is ground and the shortest is terminal.

I had the same issue with my Ibby when I put EMG soapbars in it. I had to resolder everything to a new Switchcraft 152B jack, as the stock jack deteriorated as yours did. Scroll down to page 4 of the EMG installation instructions and it tells how to solder in the Switchcraft 152B jack:

If you're unsure about the output jack leads,what I did was plug a cable into it then check the other end of my cable to the jack leads for continuity to find which is the tip,ground etc.I got a 3 lead stereo barrel jack and was quite confused till I thought of this!! Good luck!
