Has anyone ever seen solid wood ribs on an old Kay? I never have; all are typically 3 ply laminated. I had one come in today with an approx. 1941 label that has a German factory neck and solid wood ribs. I'm thinking that someone may have actually taken an old carved bass with a dead top / back and pulled the plates off a beat up Kay to get it running again....

Hmmm, when I was in the area a number of year's back I played a Kay that had a solid top that El Jefe Kelischek carved an put on. Maybe something similar?
