My 75 fender pbass wasn't all original because it had a 4 bolt neck. Even used the line "i lived through the 70s."

Yeah, but consider this.
I also lived through the 70’s. My 1970 P bass has a four bolt neck. It isn’t all original.

I lived through the 70's , too. Granted, I spent a few years pooping in my pants then, but we all gotta start out somewhere.

There are plenty of 70's 4 bolt necks. They are 25% better imo.

Notice i said p bass guys. Im pretty sure all 75 p basses came with 4 bolt necks.

In the mid 70s, Fender was digging through their parts bins putting instruments together. There are 3 and 4 bolt examples out there.

It happens sometimes. I lived through the 70’s and had hip replacement surgery so I’m not all original.
The ‘76 P in my bedroom is 4 bolt... all original including ashtray and quite possibly the strings as well!
Many, many smart and knowledgeable people lived through the seventies. Several jackasses made it through as well, it seems.
The Fender Precision bass never was produced with a 3 bolt neck. Always had 4. Pretty sure the standard model telecaster guitar was only made with 4 bolt necks as well.
I lived through the 60's. Some of the 50's too. I'm still dumb aa a rock about some things, so I keep my mouth shut about those things.
That's exactly what i thought but never confident enough to state it as fact. Still, never saw a 3 bolt mid 70s Precision.
The 3 bolt neck joint (with micro-tilt adjustment) was designed for the “bullet” truss-rods and therefore did not appear on the P-Bass because it never had that. It was primarily used on Strats and J-Basses, with a few other exceptions thrown in.
If a 70’s P-Bass had a 3 bolt neck plate...that would be the “non-original” version.
