if i had 500 bucks it would be gone...but i also have a SVT VR and matching 810AV...but i still want it...
Don't think I would waste my driving. Considering it is in Nashville of all places I am sure it is GONE!

About this item. Even if its on the up and up, $500 is too much for me for any old item. Recently on Ebay, I found an ampeg B-18 which they wanted $800 as opening bid. All money is new and not used, so why should anybody buy an over-priced ancient amp, even if its in great shape? Your item is old, might be on the up and up( however the person that suspects that it might be hot, could be right) , so good luck .. . Anything from Craigs list, I go El Paso!!!! Finally in regards to Ebay, I bought an Ampeg SVt-400T for $349 + 50 shipping. I just had it checked out at the local Samash Store. The Tech person said that nothing was wrong with it (he used it to crank up another cab he was working on) only that it is kind of dirty and it should be overhauled in the future. For now its ok. I'm lucky. I'm not an old antique amp collecter. Some people are, amps esp. bass amps are made to be played and not looked at..I apoligize for being so wordy but this topic is important to all.

Someone should report it (I tried to but don't know how). When something is being sold for 1/4 of its worth, there is something terribly, terribly wrong.
Well then you really should do your research. That stack there is worth about $2000, so even if you had no interest in keeping it, you could turn around and sell it quick for a nice profit.
If you ever see a '64 P Bass offered for $500, let us know. I'll grab it up so you won't even have to worry about it.

Yes. And why aren't you buying it, svtscruggs? You can make a grand easy on it. I emailed the guy and I live in NY. If he still has it I'll take the 9 hour drive down...and bring the PD with me.

i said above why im not buying it...i dont have 500 extra bucks b/c its Christmas time and i already have a SVT VR and matching 810AV...so i already basically have it...
honestly...its not that uncommon in this town to go to garage sales and find insane deals...there has always been a huge concentration of musicians here...when people die theri old gear has to go somewhere...some old lady could have been selling her dead husbands old amp or something...i mean you always hear about people finding crazy deals at pawn shops...i personally found a real american 40th anniversary stratocaster at a pawn shop once marked for 300 bucks with case...pulled out 250 cash and it was mine...i flipped it and bought my SVT2 Pro...it happens!

I doubt that any full SVT sells for $2K qucikly right now unless it's dead mint; I would think that if you had a week to sell it, you could probably get a grand for the head and MAYBE $400 for the cabinet
So, to put up $500 in order to make $900 and having to shlep that heavy thing tells me the return on investment is decent, but defineately no a steal
I've bought and sold probably 25 vintage guitars in my day and unless it's a Pre CBS custom color strat or a burst, there are no sure things, especially on vintage amps
