Yes, that's it. Early SR's had bakelite nuts, If you don't string them that way, the nut shrinks, and the strings get even closer together. On an Ibby, that's just too close.

I got a cheap bass in a trade and realized after I strung it that the two tuning keys on top were strung backwards. I have just been too lazy to fix it. I realized it when I went to tune it and every time I pick it up I realize I haven’t changed them yet.

It's the infamous "detune reversal method" popularized by Spanks the Clown during his "Kl0wn Poci" days. They played tunes backwards for the most part, so why not go all out?

Seems entirely appropriate for a Reverb listing. I’d think something was suspicious if there wasn’t at least one wonky aspect to it. This can range anywhere from a dirty sock laying over the upper horn, to a Hello Kitty sticker in the control cavity. Of course, no Reverb ad is complete without the $297 shipping.
