That's a short trip to crazy for me. For some reason, it really bothers me when somebody does this.
This is a travesty. The strings should be tied around the tuning posts, not wrapped as seen here. While a clove hitch is fairly standard, I find that a taut-line hitch allows for easier retuning
Either is good as long as there is 4 or 5 inches of eye-poking string sticking out.

I hope it’s not from the same guy that I just purchased a bass from. Here is a pic of the bass that I just bought.
The seller ended up being a liar and con artist. Fortunately, I got my money back via Reverb forcing the issue. The bass was shipped in a box with no protection and shorter than the case he included. Because the box was shorter, he simply taped a flat piece of cardboard on the exposed end of the case. The guy agreed to ship via UPS because they hold my packages. Then shipped through the post office without my agreeing and it was specified before hand that I would only agree to the deal if shipped via UPS. He then tried to swap the hard case for a gig bag after the sale. I didn’t agree so I think he swapped the case for a broken one because the case that arrived was different than the pics. I just checked and I don’t see this item listed on his page but if anyone ever has to deal with a guy that goes by Used Guitar Salesman from Tennessee, use caution. He does a poopy job packing items he ships and then tries to change perameters of the deal after it's made.
some people string basses wrong. some people spell words wrong. sometimes it's by accident. sometimes it's on purpose.
