Just do what I did and wait for a hurricane to blow the old one off. Then wait until the insurance company pays you out on the "pre storm" value for the work/supplies and enjoy coughing up the difference.
That aside, I've just redone the living area, entrance way and hall (paint, new floor, a bit of drywall and base moulding and casing to be finished). Prior to this little fun project, I installed a new AC return (to match the new AC unit from last summer), a water heater, the disposal and other various odds and ends. The first project was revamping the guest bathroom and we did a mediocre job, so that will be redone again soon, as well.
