A bit of music trivia. Originally titled Midnight Plane To Houston written and first recorded by Jim Weatherly about a conversation he had with Farrah Fawcett about her and his friend Lee Majors, who she'd just started dating as characters taking a midnight plane to Houston. The song was changed to Midnight Train to Georgia and recorded by Cissy Houston (mother of Whitney Houston and aunt to Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick). It was sent to Gladys Knight and the Pips, who liked Houston's recording and kept the title and took their cover all the way to #1 in 1973 and won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance.
Rainy Night In Georgia - Written and first done by Tony Joe White and then a mega hit cover version by Brook Benton.
