Based the results of recent events it is permissible because Ion is a complete, contiguous word embedded in a word from the previous title.

I don't think it's necessary, it's fine as it is. I don't see a need to overcomplicate a simple game. If someone finds a word-within-a-word to play off of in a title, so be it. I think it makes it more interesting. It certainly opens up the possibilities. Besides it's been happening all along.
