"Road Trippin'" by the chili peppers is a fun little groove that sounds kind of complex but really isn't ... "Shimmer" by Fuel has a really easy bass line that sounds really good. "Longview" by Green Day is almost a requirement these days :) "Self-Esteem" and "Dirty Magic" by the Offspring have some really fun riffs, the latter being the first song i learnt on bass. oh, and almost all of Rage Against The Machine's songs, although some of them are a bit hard (particularly "Take The Power Back" if you're a newbie to the low-end side), but try 'em out anyway. groooove on, brudda :D

I started out playing verses to songs that I knew. The first one I learned was self esteem by the offspring, the second Ironman by Black Sabbath. Try things you listen to a lot. I'm a huge Metallica fan, so I got into that quick, and while I wouldn't call myself a really good bass player, I can play some challenging songs. Also, on this site, go to the misc tab sections, and impress all your friends by playing the X-Files theme.. heheh..have fun
