As a 14 year-old in 1979, I heard the Ramones play this song on the "Sha Na Na" show. I had never heard punk before (I lived in Utah, after all)...

At that instant, my life was forever changed.

I was watching some Rush DVD and I can still remember almost exactly what it was like hearing Geddy Lee just belting out "Prison of the lost!! XANADU!!!!!!"

Never felt that again until I heard World of Pain of Cream about a year later.

Then about a year and a half later, about four days ago I heard Sing For Absolution and Invincible, both by Muse and realized that I have a new idol.
