Sonic Research Model ST-200 Stomp Box Strobe Tuner Users

Not for sure if this is where I need to post this but, I'm interested in the Sonic Research Model ST-200 Stomp Box Strobe Tuner and wanted to hear some comments from users.

I have seen the 'You Tube AD' and it looks like a great tuner. But is it reliable and robust? Any comments would be appreciated!

Accuracy: TT - 0.02 cent, Polytune - 0.5 cent, TU-3 - 1 cent

Both the TT and the Polytune are comparably sized, and a bit smaller than the TU-3.

TT and Polytune employ True Bypass switching, while Boss uses their standard buffer.

That's about all that can be compared at this point.

I've been eying these myself, but I gotta say... my Korg pitchblack really does everything i'd ever want in a tuner, and does so far better than the boss tuners ever have... plus its smaller, sturdier, better looking and $10 cheaper than the standard boss pedal tuner. I know its not quite as fancy-pants as this thing, but I can't imagine needing anything more than the Korg.

My first pedal tuner was a Boss TU2. I didn't keep it for long; I don't care what anyone says but I got fed up of having to fine tune by ear after tuning up with (this. in my own opinion renders the function of it being being a usable, silent tuner moot).

I used a Korg DT-10bk for years which was good enough for live work. Recently I picked up a Sonic Research ST-200.

Initial impressions are good; it's very accurate and it tracks quickly. The construction feels fairly sturdy, but my only concern is that I can see the circuitry through the two jacks and power socket (gaps around the edges of the DC socket on mine). I don't think it would take more than a splash of beer from some drunk at a gig to fry it, but then again, I don't expect my pedals to have to take that kind of abuse anyway :)

Heh.

I had a Turbo-Tuner and sold it because I had a Peterson strobostomp. Well, I sold the Peterson and bought another Turbo-Tuner. Tuners are very glamorous, but the Turbo-Tuner just works and works well.

I got an ST-200 about two weeks ago and would say the build is top quality. It has a super bright LED display and grabs the notes just about as fast as you can play them. Simple to use and has advanced options if you have a need for custom tuning. Small, Fast, Accurate, and easy to see with true bypass.... Get One.
