I don't like going to people's houses to buy or have them coming to mine. I like to meet at a local public place. It's too easy to be robbed and murdered nowadays. If I'm selling anything they can't come back to me anyway because they don't know where I live. If buying something I just have to trust the people when they say it works. I bought one of the best basses I ever owned this way.

I don't really want craigslist people in my house or to know where I live. I don't sell busted gear and I'm honest about condition, but people are crazy these days. They can check it out in a parking lot, and if not satisfied with that, we part ways. I have even taken a small bass amp along with me, powered by my little DC/AC adapter (at very low power levels).

I don't want anyone coming to my house, that just opens up a whole can of worms potentially. Likewise, I'm always hesitant to go their place, unless it's a studio, rehearsal spot, or if they've been vetted, and in that regard I always request phone numbers during the communication process so that, 1)I can text for expediency, 2)it assists in weeding out the BS artists, and 3)I can google the number to possibly see who I'm dealing with. Doing that last one, I once avoided a guy convicted of assault.
I will meet at convenience stores, Starbucks or similar, GC parking lots, or any local cop shops that provide space for such transactions. I power amps off of my car. I am a motivated seller, making it convenient for them to part with their money.

You're trying to sell stuff. The market wants what it wants. If you deliver it to them, you can have them check it out while you are there. That way, they can't return it to you… because a) it worked when you delivered it, and b) they don't know where you live.

Do you specify in the ad what the options are? On FB I always check the box for them to come to my door (or neutral place if it's a higher value item), and in the description I specify porch pickup. I've never once been asked to deliver something.
