Sorry Not Sorry!

I can’t read music, I use a pick and I mostly play root notes!

I play fast, hard and I have soooooo much fun doing it!

Sorry not sorry! 🤷🏼‍♂️
So I’ve let this one simmer for a bit and I’ve really enjoyed reading through everyone’s thoughts and opinions on it!

I made the post for a few reasons ,

One being ,Im new to being a bassist ( 4 years). I’m 42 and been playing the drums since early teens. So as I got more into bass and started signing up to bass groups; I found myself seeing a lot of “plays more than root notes” comments.

My post was all in absolute good fun, and 100% satirical / tongue in cheek. I do absolutely play root notes and a pick lol; however in my later years in life I’ve embraced who and where I am as a musician and feel quite comfortable in my own skin!

I just wanted to make a fun shoutout to other bassists like myself who definitely doesn’t play the bass in the most traditional sense, but absolutely adores the bass like TB member on year! 🫶🏻

I honestly don't know what a root note is... and I can't play with a pick.

But I can cover Rush's "Leave that thing alone, Force ten, Vital signs, Animate, Roll the bones, overture, enemy within, Vapor trail, Sweet miracle, far cry" The killers "jenny was a friend of mine, Avatar"dirt I'm buried in" and a couple Skillet songs, I also knew a bunch of church songs I forgot, But I mostly noodle.

Geddy lee ruined me because he doesn't hold the bottom end as much as he compliments Alex on guitar.

You got me to click on the thread. That counts for something.
