Soul Food appreciation thread

on a side note, here is interesting soul food/cajun fusion dish i had in north louisiana once. - fried chicken gumbo!

fry some chicken (southern flour batter), make a gumbo (brown with a roux/ not a new orleans red), then slide the fried chicken into the gumbo whole. the chickens skin turns into it own gravy...mmm...so good. (thats it, time to find some vegan chicken).

How the hell "KFC" got brought up in a thread about Soul Food???? Because when i think Soul Food i think KFC... This thread is dead to me.

If you read what I wrote, you would see that I was trying to tell people that KFC is NOT soul food.

Some people try that crap, then think that they have actually tried "southern fried chicken." They could not be further from the truth. So when someone says they don't like "soul food," I try to make sure they have actually tried some.

1) I can't read, I’ve never learned.

2) It matters not that you said "NOT", you still put KFC and soul food in same sentence and even in the same thread. This means that even for a slight second you thought "soul food, chicken! KFC", and only then you though "no no no no KFC is not soul food".

Bottom line is, you should not think anything close to KFC when you hear words "soul food", not even when you think KFC is NOT soul food, those things should not come to anyone’s mind.
