And says mixing on a tablet is a nightmare, but we sound so so much different and better than we did for years, with analogue.

I'm not sure if she ever mixed on large format analog consoles "back in the day"… but speaking from many years experience mixing on both analog and digital, I'll take digital mixing on a tablet 99.99999% of the time over analog.
From being able to setup/adjust monitor mixes right there ON the stage to walking the room while mixing.
Analog simply doesn't compare.

All she'd ever run was a 36 channel Mackie at church, which doesn't really count, because nothing ever really changed week to week.
Then, the Yamaha she ran for years like you said, from the stage later on, after our snake got bad.
I have a 24 channel analogue Yamaha in a road case, which we've never used......big as a dining table.
She says stylus or finger touch is not as fast or positive as a real knob or slider. Having to go to a different screen to make a change, then switch back is cumbersome.
That's what she tells me, I've got my eyes closed playing onstage.

She has a valid point there. A lot of that depends on the vendors workflow in the software app on the tablet.
On the X32 series (for example), gain/trim can be adjusted on the tablet app, saved as a scene and recalled later. On the QSC TM series, you CANNOT do that, so at EVERY gig you have to MANUALLY set the trim AT the mixer! On Yamaha, there can be way too many layers for the inexperienced sound person.
Many now allow customized layers where you can add the controls/faders you use most!
Still, I prefer the flexibility of being moveable and not rooted to a console at FOH.
