Hello everyone. I was looking at the Ibanez Soundgear 1200 model. Anyone have any experience with this instrument? They are all made in Korea for some strange reason. I know that Korea makes the lower end models mostly below SR800 and some SR800 models, but what's up with SR1200 being made in Korea? Is it inferior in quality to say a Japan made SR800 or SR1100 or SR1300...I only noticed it uses the cheaper bridge that the SR400 of the same mid 90s era uses, It sucked on the SR400FL that I currently own, the thing bent over time. Not a good bridge. The two SR800s I own ('93 and '01) are both made in Japan and are by far more superior in quality (finish, hardware, electronics) than the '95 SR400FL. I only know that Soundgears 800 and up are the higher end stuff with the nicer electronics and hardware usually. The 1200 has the same AFR pickups, which i like a lot, but the bridge is questionable as it looks cheap, but I can't really say as I've never saw a physical instrument of this model. The woods seem to be all there, Maple/Walnut Neck Through body construction. Nice maple top on the body. Found it in Transparent black finish, looks very nice, but again I'm very warey of the Korean made instruments as they did both please and disapoint me in the past. Let me know what you guys/girls think. Thanks!....by the way, anyone know why they built this particular model specifically in Korea?
