My wife and I live on big batches of black bean soup, lintel soup, and all kinds of other bean soups all winter. We got a good jalapeno crop this year, so those will go in as long as the supply holds out. We still have some dried Thai peppers that we grew last summer. Spicy happens around here. We don't wait until the weather turns to make soup.

I love me a New England clam chowder. That stuff is delicious. Creamy with tasty chewy bits of clam.

Although the ultimate stew is my Mother's borscht! Look that up. Add a couple pinches of pepper flakes and chase it down with a shot of vodka and a couple slices of lard. Really opens up your sinuses.

Borscht is great. A Russian place I go to makes it very well. They also make delicious lamb testicles.
