Solemate looks very nice, well thought out midi controller. This will most likely bump my gecko.

Any reason the jack locations are on the sides rather than top/back like the other soundblox units? That is one of the louder complaints about the T21 midi mouse, somewhat surprised to see it implemented here.

That housing only permits I/O on the sides. It is a hard problem to solve, and we tried to do the product with a housing which was not too crazy custom. The One Series and the delay are very custom. In my view they are some of the nicest housings ever designed. Can't always afford to do that.

I'm a little confused, why're the some of the patches/banks named after the pedals? Does that suggest the rest of the names are the names of upcoming One Series releases too?

The expression indicator is going to be incredibly useful. Can you configure what MIDI CC you set the expression pedal to, and can you set it to control several MIDI CC independently? That would be a great way to control multiple parameters on the same device at the same time. For example, I would really like to use an expression pedal to adjust the resonance of a hothand-controlled envelope filter.

Also, I'm guessing it can only work as a USB slave device, not a USB master device right?

My assumption is that you can edit them, and that's just what they named those patches. But I'm sure someone from SA will weigh in soon enough.

Like Nic., I would like to know more about the expression pedal:

1) can you control multiple parameters on the same device?

2) can you use it at the same time and on the same device with the HotHand ? (for me, the most missing feature in SoundBlox2, when you are coming from SoundBlox BEF/MWBD Pro)

3) can you use two expression pedals to control separately each parameters/devices? (One connected to the hub and one connected to Solemate)

Well I guess we can wait (especially since it won't be released that soon!). Looking forward to knowing more info about it's exact capabilities though - if it lets me reassign the expression/hothand to multiple MIDI I think that'd be an instant purchase on my part.

For a moment I thought the Kingmaker patch would have settings on the OFD that was like the Kingmaker, and same for the other pedal and the Dimension... and then all the names started popping out.

Yes, each patch can be named as you choose using the editor software.

For this video, the patch names serve as "Easter Eggs." There are 12 patches in the videos; each one is named after a new product that we will introduce at the 2015 NAMM show.
