Compare what Source Audio has done to the Zoom MultiStomps: for all intents and purposes, the MS50G, MS60B, and MS70CDR are all the same pedal, in different colors, with slightly different firmware. This has been proven by the user community through unsupported community developed software to enable, e.g., the same number of effects spots on MS60B (4, by default) as the MS50G (5) or MS70CDR (7). You can also ditch effects you don’t want from any specific pedal and load whichever ones you want from any of those.
ZOOM does not endorse this and it almost certainly voids your warranty, even though these are obviously the same pedal in different colored housings.

You have SA which builds all this flexibility right in, (no warranty voiding). Zoom which releases separate versions of their products (bass vs guitar) and may or may not allow side loading of non-'native' modules. Or Fractal which puts the kitchen sink in every product (though they admittedly don't cater to bass players as much as they do guitarists) and allow presets to be loaded freely amongst them within CPU limitations.

To be clear, Source Audio pedals are far closer in price to Zoom MultiStomps than Fractals.

If you line up a few SA pedals to equate to a multi-FX chain (like EQ, compression, modulation, distortion, reverb), you are much closer to the price of a Fractal FM3 than you are to a budget Zoom pedal.

Still your points are equally valid regardless of the price.
