Source Audio Programmable EQ Equalizer SA170 needs firmware...

Hi,

Recently had some issues with my Programmable EQ. The buffered bypass did not work (I guess...) as when You turned it off (led OFF) the pedal was still using preset EQ.... so actually never been switched off.

So, had this "brilliant idea" of upgrading new Firmware...
Downloaded this:
Dropbox - EQ_Update_1_31.zip - Simplify your life

And then followed this:


And.... my pedal never came back to "normal mode"

my pedal`s version is: rev B 101811

Both supplied files used - same results - all looks good except in the end pedal is not working...

Of course contacted Source Audio but no reply yet...

Any Ideas?

Anyone having firmware which will work?

At this stage I can only upload new firmware (boot mode?) Nothing else....

REALLY appreciate it!

Can not read serial number I was asked for but 2012 and 2015 HEX files did not work(!)...

I guess I need hex file from earlier time/s...

Monday`s update.

Got a hex file (SN2011_update_restore) from Source Audio before the weekend and flashed the Eq. All went ok except EQ is not engaging - leds are working, you can set the frequencies but turning on or off the EQ makes no difference....

Still having a brick.

I hope they will supply me another hex file to try...

Thank You. Just replied to Niko. My EQ has been delivered on 17.03 to Danish service centre (Ive got proof of delivery) but nobody ever confirmed that.... I guess thanks to coronavirus?


Anyway. I do believe we are all grown-ups and we do what we say.

Small Update....

I have no words - not only because I`m a foreign man...

Just received BRAND NEW shiny, working perfect EQ from Source Audio!

It just took 10 days to get it from USA to N. Ireland - same speed as UK to UK parcels these days.

BIG thanks to SA`s staff - especially Niko Pappas - for dedicated support to(for) a "pain in ass" man (Me)

The Denmark Service centre is closed because of so called "pandemic" so they sent me new item.


Will never receive that sort of service from ANY EU/Chinese company... I`m sure about that.

You set an example!!!

I recently bought the SA170 used and I was impatient about updating.
I used the files you posted here and I also ended up with a blocked pedal that the only thing it can do is to receive a different firmware (switches on only in boot mode)

What did you do?
Did you fix yours? If yes how?

I am kinda desperate and I feel stupid that I didn't wait for Source Audio to respond and give me a legit firmware.

Whoever reads this post, DO NOT try to install the firmware that is available here in this dropbox folder!
