The only risk here is when the Hub supports C4 in scenes, you might wish that C4 was on another channel? @Gibs210 ??

All settings are 'temporary' until I get things sorted and if they work on first try. ;)

Someone here suggested I run both on the same channel as a way of easy functionality. I also have hedged my bets on the hub v. host situation. I'll have both to test with. Right now I only have a C4, so I don't really see the value in using scenes rather than just using MIDI commands from my controllers to pick patches. I am using the hub for expression control, but I would think that I should be able to use the expression on my ES-5 or my DMC, which then opens me up to use that pedal for other MIDI pedals on demand as well.

I realize it's perhaps an unconventional request but I would still like a feature, probably embedded in the Neuro Desktop, where any SA pedal that has its own 128 presets (Nemesis, Ventris, C4, Spectrum?) can be "turned off" from Hub scenes. Someone suggested the physical hack of just unplugging those pedals before saving a scene. Another possibility is to go in and edit scenes and remove these pedals from those scenes. Both of those would accomplish the same end goal but would be fairly inconvenient.

I run my compressor after the C4 which tames the volume enough so I don’t have to worry about it.

Interesting. I'm not seeing 1.04b on their website...and they list 8/6/2019 as their last update. I do see that they've released another DMC3 update, as of 9/19/2019...so end of last week.

And here’s a video showing the update procedure with the MIDI Baby. The steps are the same with the micro, except you must hold down the LEFT footswitch while inserting the USB cable to start the bootloader.



This version changes the program select method for the C4 to use MIDI CC rather than program changes, which are currently broken on the pedal.

Please let me know if this helps! It’s working great on my board, I hope it gets you up and running!

Ah, I sent a few uber-grumpy evening emails to DA after they let me know they'd used PC instead of CC for patch scrolling, lol...given that they were 'working with SA' and knew the hub couldn't pass PC.

I'm glad to see that I probably wasn't the only one. ;)

I'm actually using the DMC3. I'll go in and do my firmware tonight, assuming that they were upgrading across platforms. I'm using a 1.51b right now I think.

Considering there’s no other pedals connected to the hub (and sounds like your not planning on any in the future), you could keep it the same channel. Both the hub and c4 are going to read messages sent to them as pertaining to them self, which in the hub isn’t a big deal unless your using the midi out for cc expression of other devices (cc8, 9, and 10 if I remember correctly), then it should be fine, but if you add more pedals to the hub, it starts to make it more complicated to control, and you could be sending the same cc message to 6 pedals (hub included) at full capacity. That should still work fine, but you never know.

I generally suggest that people set their pedals to independent channels from the get go, especially if they plan to expand. Simply because you’ll have to reprogram the midi channel of each pedal, in each preset one by one, if you start off with a different channel for each, it’s easier on you in the long run.

Cool. I have no problems moving the channels around. In this case it would mean moving the Hub to something north of 4 (since the DMC wants to read the pedals A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4). I have my ES set at 5 or 6 just to get it 'out of the way'.

For right now I have my expression coming from the hub, but if I need to multi-task it to other MIDI pedals, or I do indeed go Hub-Free, I'll make the change to using one of the multiple Expression outs on the ES. I also have expression available on the DMC (both input and roller).

What do you plan to do with it in your setup?

Would you be so kind as to replace the BEF Pro and Multiwave (long gone) with the C4?
