Better go now. Perhaps the included LFO and EQ will help it hold its value. It really is a great pedal with the classic all-you-can-eat buffet option list that SA is known for.

This one I'm torn on, I have 5 gain pedals on my board, one with 2 gain settings available. At best this would replace 2 pedals, unless I get the control blox and go MIDI, then it could potentially replace all of my drive pedals. I'm planning on getting the SB2 BEF to go with my Orbital, so if I have 3 SB2 pedals, going MIDI might make a lot of sense, but I have no experience with MIDI.

I'm definitely looking forward to demos and reviews.

Having never used any MIDI based products before, my experience with the midi stuff in regards to the SB2 has been pretty painless so far. There will be some things for you to consider if you want to go that direction, but the basics of setting scenes up and being able to switch between scenes can be done fairly easily. There are ways to make it a bit more complicated if you want, but it doesn't have to be so.

Also note, you may already have some MIDI controller / MIDI aware devices on your board and not necessarily be aware of it. Nearly all of the Line6 and Boss / Roland multi effect devices can send MIDI PC (Patch Change) data with each patch change that takes place on that device. Some can even send MIDI CC. Not sure if boxes like the Eventide send MIDI out like that, but possibly.

Note that the OFD sounds awesome. Tons of interesting tones. 3 EQ points, clean blends, some serious gating you can apply to any of the voices. Good stuff.

The only MIDI stuff I have on my board are the SA pedals I have, Orbital and BEF.

Don't worry, with the EQ built in you can make it sound like pretty much whatever you want. The reason I'm selling my Hoof Fuzz is because I can make the Big Muff setting sound nearly identical and that has always been my favorite Muff pedal.

Not an EHX Bass Muff, actually. Bob used a clone as his standard that he home built and really likes. You can wipe the spit off your screen!!

The soundclips on the site for the guitar OFD are awesome. The bass ones are not up to our standards. Please be patient!

i never bonded with the BMW, curious about this bugger though.

The Fuzz Pi voicing on the OFD is so thick and awesome you can crank the gain, EQ to your taste, set the Gate on max, then push an OC-2 in front for totally awesome gated synth fuzz tones. Thankfully it's nothing like the Bass Big Muff.

So I was jamming out this morning and engaged my BEF Pro and instead of giving me a nice swell or bubbly sound like I'm used to, it emitted this horrible screeching noise. I thought, "that's odd" and played around with the knobs and tried on a different preset switch (center), it didn't make the noise but didn't make any effect either. Still weird, twisted the knobs around some more and hit another footswitch and the same horrible screeching noise came out. Sooooooooo there's something seriously wrong with my BEF Pro, which sucks ass. I LOVE THIS PEDAL!

Has anyone had a random occurrence like this and the BEF? I mean it was working perfect two days ago and I've literally not change anything in my setup, so I'm super confused.

Is it worth fixing or will I just have to buy a new one?

It has happened to me before but a quick reset (cycling the power) seemed to fix the problem right up!

Mine has acted like this before too, never sure why but it just needs powered down and restarted.

same thing used to happen to me using stock SA PS, and I had multiple PS and tried different ones. Only the BEF pro had that issue too. But ever since I've switch to a MXR MC403 power supply it's never happened again.
