I was driving up the outer loop to Alexandria and saw it in the sky. At first I couldn't make it out and I said "What the heck is THAT!" .... Then I heard on TOP what was up. I remember the first launch like it was yesterday. Then again I remember John Glen like it was yesterday .... I was a lot shorter....

It looks pretty rough, I would be a little nervous to go to space in it.

Pretty sure they've always used the ceramic tiles, helps withstand the heat.

National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantily, VA. It's about 30-40 minutes outside of D.C. depending on traffic.
