Its mad to think that something that looks so dodgy made it to space! It really looks like its made from patched up cardboard and styrofoam!

There was a "how it's made" done on the ceramic tiles and it is pretty amazing stuff, each tile is unique and coded so they can replace them individually.
They transfer so little heat that you can touch them with bare hand a few seconds after they come out of baking at 3000 degrees, while the core is still glowing red!!!

Pretty amazing to think baked earth is flying in the sky. Those are made at Alfred University in NY. Ceramics are very cool.
