Accidentally heard about this mission to a metal asteroid called Psyche. All the worlds we've studied so far have been rock and ice (planets, moons, asteroids, comets). Psyche is thought to be the nickel-iron core of a demolished early planet. Orbits between Mars and Jupiter.

Side thought. The material might be the best for making strings and pickups to play metal.

Metal asteroids are (or at least can be) full of heavy metals that are pretty rare on Earth. Like Iridium and Osmium, the densest ones. I remember reading talk of going to snag one of those asteroids and drag it back here, it'd be worth a ziliion kajillion dolars here (or more likely, the markets for those metals would just collapse). But think of what we could build with plentiful cheap heavy metals! \m/
