Not quite sure yet. Maybe even at MaxQI thought that was going very wrong when it drifted sideways at an angle from the launch pad! I think something went wrong with 1st stage separation?

Impressive recovery from the weird launch…I thought it tipped over!I thought that was going very wrong when it drifted sideways at an angle from the launch pad! I think something went wrong with 1st stage separation?

Well, now I see why they had that gap in the gate behind the rocket...
They had to leave it open so the rocket could stroll out through it!![]()

Seriously, that was weird. Any other rocket launch film I've seen where something tipped over like that ended in a destruct call about half a second later. Seems like an awful waste of fuel to do a low hover, amble out through a meadow, then eventually start going up.
Blimey. Just watched the video of that. The gyros and gimbals were working overtime off the pad!
Seems an engine failed within a second of ignition.
Astra say that the vehicle was outside of its licenced trajectory and unlikely at that point to reach orbit so they terminated the flight themselves by shutting down the engines.
Can't wait to hear who they try to blame this time.
