speaker advice needed!

hello justin!

i have this badass old Ampeg V6B 2x15 cab that i bought unloaded a little while ago. i know next to nothing about speakers or ohmage, so if you have any advice on what resources i might look into for more info, or you've had any experiences swapping out speakers in any of your cabs, please let me know! i'll be driving the cab with an old Traynor Monoblock II, which i believe is 325W @ 2 ohms. If I were you, I'd just get a couple Eminence Beta 15's or Delta 15A's and slap them in there. The Betas are very inexpensive, but they sound really good, and their characteristics are decidedly vintage. As a matter of fact, they're a dead ringer for the 1966 CTS in my 64 B-15N. The Deltas also sound great, and they handle more power. But they're $30 more, and two Betas should be plenty to handle an old 325w Traynor. And I believe you can get both in 4 ohms, which would result in a 2-ohm load. However, I might get two 8 ohm speakers to make a 4-ohm load, which is a little more universal, since a lot of SS heads don't do 2 ohms.

yeah, wicked. thanks! i was also recommended to get 2 8-ohm speakers for a 4-ohm load. i've found some awesomely cheap Eminences on eBay that i think i'm gonna go for...
