Speaker rattle/buzz from a new speaker

When specifying parts, sometimes the engineer's directive is to make it just good enough. Cents count, usually it's hard to bring the design in on budget. The mantra is get the job done! If one engineer can't do it, they'll find another that can.

The speaker supplier, for example, has to be able to meet the required delivery schedule and price. That can easily rule out a more desirable speaker that costs just a little more. So an engineer doesn't always get what they specify. A bean counter does.

That's life. Designs can often be improved, no fault of the engineer.

Look make it easy on yourself- pull the speaker get the MFG and P/N or Serial # - Most of the time the Rumbles are using Eminence and get a data sheet, then ask what would be a good up grade, if its a 10? like think it is the Basslite or Beta will be a good upgrade and they run from $70 ish to $100 bucks = not a cheap up grade but very noticeable, also look into acoustic foam - Bottom - Sides - Back .
I have 2 100 V3s done one with a Basslite and one with an Beta there was really not much difference in sound from one or the other just the weight of the speaker and the cost difference between the 2, was a good upgrade more fuller tone in a small cabinet.
You really want a challenge try hunting for a good upgrade for a 25Watt - 8" speaker - took me 2 weeks of hunting, oh they were out their at $100- $200 - No Way for 90 dollar amp combo - ended up with a Alpha for 60 bucks, so you know you will never break even on cost if you sell

Just because it may be an Eminence part doesn't automatically mean that the Basslite or Beta will be a good choice. Maybe you aren't aware, but Eminence makes a very wide variety of drivers with vastly different parameters. Some as far away from the Basslite or Beta as you could possibly imagine.
