I'm not sure if I'm in the right room for this question...

I'd like to purchase a Speakon to Speakon cable to connect my GB SL 900 and GB Uber 410. I'm thinking 3' should do it.

Is there a "favorite" brand that the TB community prefers, or does it not really matter?

Thank you.

Don't get cheapies. Make sure it uses the genuine Neutrik connectors; I've had the experience of having to destroy a cheap speakon to get it out of the socket on a power amp because it wasn't quite up to spec size-wise.

They're pretty easy to make yourself as there isn't any soldering involved. Just make sure you wire it right as there are different ways to wire them depending on the application (stereo, etc.). All the info is easily found on the 'net.

Copper is copper, but all connectors are not created equal. Buy your own Neutrik connectors and wire, make your own.
Please excuse my ignorance, but, will the speakon connectors plug right into regular XLR jack? All I have on my amps are XLR's.
Standard 'D' frame XLR and Speakons fit the same hole, replace the XLRs.

You can make your own for less than $10. for the cost of parts. I buy my supplies at Redco Audio - Custom Audio Cables - Recording Studio Supplies - Custom A/V Panels - Redco Audio Home Page. 3ft. of Redco 12/2 speaker cable @$0.69/ft.& 2 Neutrik NL4FX connectors @ $3.77. No soldering necessary. You just need a wire stripper and a screwdriver. Piece of cake.

There are two tabs on the side of a Speakon. One is wider than the other.

I had a cheap one where the wide tab was able to JUST slide into the narrow slot. Which jammed, as expected. I still use that cable, but look at it carefully to make sure that I have it oriented the right way before I plug it in.
