It really does look much better in person! It's actually much more sparkly than my L2500. (Don't tell her)
The drum wrap is glass shards imbedded in a colored medium, so the effect is like a highway sign.
Today got it sheilded , wired up, leveled frets. Chrome knobs are temporary.
Pooh does it sound nice. Being a heavily chambered body with a maple cap, unplugged it's loud!
Plugged in, with those giant vintage DeArmond humbuckers, connected with 500k pots, it's definitely got that hollow body vibe goin on. I'm sure the trapeze tailpiece , and the tune o matic sitting over one of the cavities contributes. I'm totally digging it !
Too hot to finish the cavity cover (103f) today, it will be covered with the drum wrap too.

Thanks for the positive words all of you, this was a raw parts build cobbled together in my head over a couple years and built around the purchase of the pickups. Once I had them, this was what I pictured in my mind's eye down to the color.
Not quite a scratch build, but close enough for me being so rusty.

I've been playing it a lot, getting it dialed in. Really good with the GHS boomer rounds (only new 4 string set I had laying around) I have tried a couple sets of flats and it's really woody, need to try a set of tapes on it.
The output of these pickups is pretty mild, but with the 500k pots (VVT) the blending is effortless and effective. The taper on these post is really useful throughout the rotation.
The bass is really expressive and dynamic, percussive. Good bloomy note envelope, owing at least in part to the semi-hollow body, and the trapeze tailpiece.
It has decent volume unplugged (hollow body)!
I'm happy with the pickup locations, I did not want to go as close to the neck as either the Guild , nor the Gretsch.
I need to record some samples and upload them!
It's different than the Gretsch Billy Bo also with the 32" scale (my first medium scale!)
The body afterlength helps the balance on a strap, though it neck dives on the lap, which is easily compensated for by resting the forearm on the rear bout.

The Eden neck is a rock, stable and stiff.

I'm going to use this Drum Wrap (glass glitter from Jammin Sam Glass Glitter Drum Wraps - Jammin Sam) again in the future. In person, in even the dimmest light it positively glows. The application was easy, and much less messy than trying to do a glitter job in my backyard! and cheaper than shipping it out to Cinncity, Wilkins, or Marty Bell: and the results are FANTASTIC. (I have a Silver Glitter L2500 done by Marty to compare it to)
The Keda water-based dye worked out wonderfully: cannot wait to try it on some figured woods!

Well that ties it, the glitter knobs complete the whole ensemble. You have indeed achieved the bass boat glitter goodness. For some reason, I picture the guy from ZZ Top wielding this thing to great affect, not the shy bass for sure!

Gigged it for the first time tonite.
What a punchy little monster!
Easy to play, the DeArmonds are silent and really good sounding. Warm, yet clear with a low mid gut punch. Love the WD and Tc115 combination.
