However, I think that maple would make it too bright for my taste - and how would it look like on a wenge/bubinga neck?
I was thinking just plain Ebony or somethin dark to go with it.

Could you please tell me more about the tone - like i could guess that it would be a bit brighter because of the ash, but how did the mid-range change? How was the low-mid and the mid of that bass?

And bubinga is not just aesthetically pleasing, but also it has a nice tone. And it even looks much better in person than on that picture - its got a very nice red-brown tint and a nice grain

I thought curly and quilted were the same thing? Whats the difference? Anyways. I've got a new favorite top. Curly Bubinga. :D

Your jaw will drop and the GAS for a custom W will perish...

Reinfeld once told me how much his custom-shop Corvette 8 cost a couple of years ago... Before that I had GAS for something like a BB Thumb in 6 & lefty, but since then I have no more GAS for it and would rather buy other hi-en basses for that price

A bit of info for UK TBer's regarding Warwick!

The showroom in Manchester is not open to the public, it's for trade and invited guests only and it's part of Warwick, not a seperate company like MAD were. They are doing Framus as well.

I remember reading this and hunted down the thread, I asked about this today and they know nothing! all basses are still being made in Germany!! I assume this came from Rob Norton, he's the guy running the UK operation?

Give them a call if you're after something specific, one of the guys working for them is called Daryll, he's really helpful, knows his stuff and a good player too! They will be able to give u more info than a shop.
I do know where there is a brand new Stage 2 in Manchester at a silly price (still not cheap though)
One thing to bear in mind if you are after a Warwick, the Bass Center are in a position to offer you a better deal than anyone else in the UK (unless a shop cut's it's profit margin to the bone!) I don't work for them, I just know this!
