Specific speakon cable for GK

I know this may be a dumb question, but is there a specific speakon cable I need to use for GK amps, or can I grab any speakon cable from the PA section of a music store?

If you want to use the HMS (bi-amp) system, you need a standard, four conductor Speakon, wired 1+, 1- and 2+, 2-.

BTW....Even if not using G-K cabs, you can still use this cable. It's really easy to make your own though. You can use two conductor cable with the NF4 Speakon plugs too. Just wire them 1+, 1-.

Agreed - NL2FC plugs will work, also - you just won't be able to use the HMS feature...

Note: I'll be using this for my MB Fusion into a 115MBE. I let a guy use my rig when he subbed for me and the GK cable came apart. Not sure how to fix it, and they want $45 dollars for a cable and I need it pretty soon cuz I've got a gig coming up (their next day shipping is $37!).

Let me know what the best cable for the job would be. I'm not good with electronics or anything, so fixing it myself is out of the question at the moment.

I can't tell from your link whether it's a 4-core cable or not. Monster is overpriced by definition, and I'm sure you could find something just as good for less.

If you can tie your shoelaces and you own a screwdriver, though, you can probably fix your current cable. Here's a link to a Neutrik instruction page ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed] if you don't have a soldering iron, you can ignore that bit and just screw the bare wires into the little connectors.

That link didn't work for me.

I got the wires back in, but I don't think i put them in the right spot (only one side came apart). I tried to repair it because I noticed it right before a gig.

I don't think I reassembled it right either... The part that you pull down to lock or unlock the cable seems to be assembled wrong (by me).

How do I wire them 1+. 1-. 2+, 2-, etc? Like I said I have absolutely no knowledge of wiring.
