I posted a shot earlier today of the Rebop I just got yesterday, but here are better shots, with my Euro. Red and Blue, a perfect combination for 2012. heh!

I would LOVE that bass, but the pickup should be in the MM spot, in my opinion it would sound too "honky" that close to the bridge. I believe midway between the bridge and the end of that bass's neck joint is about where the MM "sweet spot" is.
Agreed. Definitely. Would want one as an unlined, no inlay fretless in natural oil (I am so drooling :p).

Thanks guys. It looks great in person! And yes, the newer cases are certainly a more snug fit. Still have new bass eyes for it, but two things struck me about it already. Its quite a bit different sounding than the older euro 4, more than I expected....course this could be caused from many things. Secondly, this b string is probably the best I've played. My mm was great, but it never felt or sounded quite the same as the other strings. With this bass, there is no floppiness, and even the lowest notes ring clear and true.

Congrats Gubna, have you been assigned a club number yet?

Speaking of that, I havent seen Trace on in a while.

Anyone know if he is doing ok?

Anyone that has a NS-2A with the original Korean Haz copy and Active EMGs, that can post or send me a photo of the Control Cavity?
I would like to see the connections so I can be prepared when I get my Project NS-2A.

To reiterate: that bass pictured, with the pickup more towards the MM pickup location would be a DREAM BASS for me. :hyper:

I agree! It should be in the sweet spot! But yeah, great idea!

OK. FIRST... this is NOT a real SPECTOR.
It's a mock-up I did in Photoshop to show PJ an idea that Nicki Tedesco and I were talking to him about.

See Nicki was a MusicMan Stingray player before Spector. And she sometimes misses the sound of her Ray. I personally used to own a Stingray and loved it. I love Spectors more. But if I was going to play something other than a Spector (which I'm not), I'd dig having another pre-Ernie Ball Ray.

So we were throwing around the idea of a ReBop-MM model.

Basically set up like a Ray, but all ReBop. And of course Nicki said she'd want the new Maple Finger Board option that's now available for Euro models with hers.

What do you all think? Great idea, bad idea, don't care? Just trying to get some feedback so I might be able to talk PJ into building one of these or better yet, making it an option.

I think it's a great idea and it sounds like it will be similar to the USA bolt-on that mmbongo has with the one EMG MM pickup. Having that as an option for the Rebop series would be cool.

I think I'm 82... if I remember correctly. But I might be mistaken. I first got my Euro Spector in 2005 when Guitar Center was moving. I went there on lunch... after work, I walked out of there with the best bass I've ever owned. But here is another shot of the Rebop I obtained thru trade the other day. I was very patient for this one.

I'm loving the idea of a MM Rebop! Imagine how huge that would sound with a tone pump! And it feel x10 better. If it came out I know I'd get one. Maple fretboard and all!

Yes! But for me, the ReBop is sort of the unsung hero of the NS-Basses. The only Spector Bolt-On with the true fully-carved NS-Body and the most affordable NS-Bass with crown inlays made.

So I LOVE the idea of doing alternate pups like the MM or two J pups or a humbucker and a J. So I'll be continuing the push. PJ knows that I love the ReBop. We've talked about it many times.

Kenny Weydener, a Spector Artist, just released a solo all instrumental CD with his ReBop4DLX-EX front and center, and John Montagna sent me two tracks for the DVD on his ReBop4DLX-FM that are AMAZING sounding.

Nicki wants the ReBop MM and I'd want one... and with all the awesome feedback here tonight... I think it might be something to look at doing.

I'll find out more at NAMM. And also, you guys remember, if you want live updates via Twitter, follow me at: @SPECTORCentral I'll post photos, video clips and general updates.

Starting with setup, so you can get advanced previews of the basses and guitars there.
