Can't wait.... it would be cool to keep video/audio references for different spectors and different rigs..... maybe a new section for SpectorCentral... what do you think Patrick?

That about sums it up.. :)

Spector/GK rig... this kid is pretty good... mix is a little Bass heavy but thats ok :bassist:

Spector/Ashdown rig from our very own SeventhFrame

Yes Sir, The Check is in the Mail on Spector Bass - YouTube

That dude in the blood meat cover is a member of the club. He hasn't chimed in in a couple threads though...

OK. FIRST... this is NOT a real SPECTOR.
It's a mock-up I did in Photoshop to show PJ an idea that Nicki Tedesco and I were talking to him about.

See Nicki was a MusicMan Stingray player before Spector. And she sometimes misses the sound of her Ray. I personally used to own a Stingray and loved it. I love Spectors more. But if I was going to play something other than a Spector (which I'm not), I'd dig having another pre-Ernie Ball Ray.

So we were throwing around the idea of a ReBop-MM model.

Basically set up like a Ray, but all ReBop. And of course Nicki said she'd want the new Maple Finger Board option that's now available for Euro models with hers.

What do you all think? Great idea, bad idea, don't care? Just trying to get some feedback so I might be able to talk PJ into building one of these or better yet, making it an option.

If they did this and a model with J pickups it would be a no brainer IMO.

Looks a lot like my Euro I love so much. If it sounds as good of course it is a winner. I dont really know how the electronics compare to my Euro or NS-Blue, but if its got the sound I think its a great idea!:hyper::bassist:

I would LOVE that bass, but the pickup should be in the MM spot, in my opinion it would sound too "honky" that close to the bridge. I believe midway between the bridge and the end of that bass's neck joint is about where the MM "sweet spot" is.

To reiterate: that bass pictured, with the pickup more towards the MM pickup location would be a DREAM BASS for me. :hyper:

I think that it would sell well. I might even buy one :) I agree with Mad this and a model with 2 Js and I think its a no brainer

That with a J pickup at neck position would be pretty sweet. I think Spector makes or made a legend like that, just not in MM position.

I'd totally get one. Will five stringers be produced as well?

I really dig this idea. I've always been a fan of EB basses. It seems like this would be the best of both worlds.

Agreed. It was a quick mock-up in Photoshop. It's not even an EMG MM Pup but the HZ widened to look like an MM. So the answer is, no that's not where it would be placed (I hope).

It should be where the MM pup is placed in the Ray to make it sound right.

Thanks!
