The haz is the classic Spector tone, personally I prefer the pump at 18v . It's got a little more bottom end imo than the haz. At 9v the pump distorts and growls like the haz, at 18 its somewhere in-between the haz and obp. You can also adjust the output of the pump to drive your pre just how you like it ;)

Based on all of LimaGuy's clips, I also prefer the 18v Tonepump sound. I'm going to order up some 9v battery clips today and do the mod documented in Part 28.

Thanks, I've had this one about 6 months, I sold a Turquoise Yamaha John Myung 6 string bass, and wasn't gonna spend the money (Was gonna pay towards a credit card), then I found the Spector CHEAP, someone had ripped the frets out of it, my friend in New York drove 80 miles to get it for me:) - I did have a bolt on Spector before, but had to sell it to get tyres, always wanted a Thru neck Euro though

@ebradfordrich, it's not a Doug Wimbish model, it's a 2002 Euro 4 with solid maple wings:)

So I just got the blue NS-5XL from guy n. cognito yesterday. Didn't have enough time to restring it and tweak the action, but so far the difference between its sound and my Euro 5 is noticeable. It's obviously a beautiful bass and made well, but if anything I think it's going to make me appreciate my Euro's even more. They really are close to the same quality as the US basses IMO in terms of feel.

Guy mentioned he moved it due to not wanting to gig a bass that nice in the clubs he plays in (I feel the same way!), and two other TB'ers turned this bass around in a short time span before him which I find puzzling. It's like I look at this thing and I can't see anything wrong with it. I mean the only minor thing I could say is where the bottom wing meets the heel of the neck you can feel a little bit of a rise where they meet but it's certainly not noticeable from a visual standpoint.

I feel like I'm dating this hot chick that four other guys dumped in the last year and I can't see what's wrong with her LOL.

"Spector no longer offers USA built basses so hopefully you can find a way."

At least that is what a salesman trying to sell me a 6 string USA Spector bass told me Via e-mail today.

To be clear, Spector obviously still does, this saleman just told me that to try to get me to buy the bass...:mad:

I hate bull crap salesman lines like that....:spit:

Last week I saw that Stix_Clgi posted about a USA buckeye burl NS-6XL he had played for a great price. Since he wasn't getting it, I e-mailed the store and started asking questions, it is on sale for a great price, and it is identical to my 4 string NS-4 except it has a Matte finish, my NS-4 has the gloss.

I was interested but not impressed with the salesman, I asked him a bunch of questions and got a very short answer to one of them. I asked him 3-4 times for pictures before he sent me a couple of iphone shots.

The bass looks very nice, and very tempting, especially for the price they are asking, but Christian has influenced me to order exactly what I want and it will be worth the extra $$ and the wait...oh the wait....

If anyone is interested in the 6'er, PM me and I can give the info and send you the pics I got.

Here's a good deal on a Legend 4 bubinga w/bolt on neck or $150!! EMGhz's and I believe the pre has a mid control. Either way, a good price!

Wooooowww..... I can't believe the dude would do that! I guess he didn't say anything like that to me because I indicated I knew a bit about them. But you already have one.... Idk what his problem is.... Sometimes the associates there act like you work for them, and that it's an honor for you that they are willing to sell you a bass.... Smh

But I think it's cool that you are gonna save for what you want, i definitely will once things turn around.....
