SPECTOR® Club - Part 29

Just got out of my first day as a "session" player. Took it on a whim when I got a call. Showed up with my euro4lx35, AguilarTH500, SL112 and TLC comp.

Decided just going direct with the exception of the TLC on one track.

The producer was amazed how "full" it sounded by itself.

Going back next week to finish up and from what I'm told so far I'm going to be his "go to" guy for bass.

Nice! Everytime I take a Spector into the Studio I get compliments about the tone!! I had a Professor in college that was an absolute audio snob. I played a session for him and he could not stop raving about the tone of my bass...it was my old bubinga Legend with the 3 band pre running thru my Avalon U5. Later in the semester he asked me to come in for another session because "he couldn't get the tone out of his head!"

...the Spector addiction is most definitely contagious...even to those who don't play bass! :bassist::D:bassist::D:bassist:

Nice dude! :D That's great that you're doing some session work! :bassist:

Nope. I hate to be a nag, but since it's been so long I messaged them today asking to let me know when they ship(ed) it so I know when to expect it.

They answer you back? Nah, that's not nagging...they should be more proactive than that and give you info. My Forte 5 made it to Ohio early today...should be in Grand Rapids, Mi. by tonight. Then to me Monday.

Freaking awesome.

seems to be the day for it. I just came back from a session, did 3 songs for a new female artist...should be interesting...I took the Doug and the NS2J AR...the engineer was quite surprised at how easy it was to track the bass. I am first call for this studio so whatever happens, I am on...
I ended up going straight in without any pedals or add-ons and both were sweet sounding....

It's a good day to be a Spector artist

My tracking was completed in the studio last week for my project. Eagerly awaiting the production. Nothing but Spector's in the studio and live for me. Looking forward to hearing yours too Chris. I might be paying you a visit in a month or two also. I am heading to your neck of the woods.

Got my cobalts today from Lima. Gotta play em through the big rig and see how they do. Definatly different than any other strings I've played. They are very mid forward , and funny enough its right in the Spector mid sweet spot. Which is pretty cool. On my combo amp at home though they give up some lows / low mids to the hi beams ,I don't usually play through the combo though so that doesn't mean much. I'll know more tomorrow night. Harmonics do fly off them really well though. Their the only strings I've played that I can clearly get all those in-between harmonics on the same frets ( manering/ jaco style), which is kind of cool. These would probably kill on a fretless. Slightly more tension than hi beams. Gotta hear em through the rig though. I know what that sounds like and how I have it set. So far so good though. We'll put em to the test wear wise as well.

Oh and +1 for Lima. I wouldn't call these used, just pre wound . A+
